So let me help you to create your first meditation to become a teacher on Insight Timer.
Yes, Insight Timer can offer you a community of millions, but first you need to record your first audio and here are the tips I give to my students in my Insight Timer Mastery Course.
My best Tips to Create your First Meditation for Insight Timer:
(2-minute video)
Tip #1: Create quality content, but don’t let perfectionism take over
Insight Timer values unique and well-produced content.
The most important thing if to create a meditation free from background noise.
Regardless of the type of microphone you’re using, you can audio use the “Reduce Noise” option on the editing apps I mention below.
Tip #2: Go with or without microphone.
A lot of people overthink which microphone they should buy. I didn’t buy a microphone until I’ve recorded about 10 meditations.
Even though I don’t recommend using your phone to record meditations, it’s a way to get started as you can use Audacity or Garage Band to remove noise and do simple editing.
That’s how my meditations started making money on Insight Timer, from $0 to $3k+.
People rather hear your raw voice than don’t hear your voice at all.
There are microphones from $99 to $200 that are great to get started, including Samson, Audio Technica and Blue Yeti in that range.
You may have to test a couple of microphones as sound is very personal and while some expensive microphones may sound great for some, you may not like the sound personally.
I recommend you buy from Amazon as it’s easy to return in case you don’t like the sound.
So, choose an initial microphone an a pop filter. Start simple.
Tip #3: Length: Record a short Meditation
A 6-minute meditation of mine has been listen to by 200k+ people and generated thousands of dollars.
In fact, most people listen to meditations up to 10 minutes anyway.
So keep your meditation from 5 to 10 minutes whilst delivering value.
Tip #4: Create a Morning or Sleep Meditation.
The most popular categories on Insight Timer are morning and sleep meditations.
So create one of those to get started. You will have a better reach and will have better chances of people falling in love with your voice.
